Bee Yard Bee Well 2025 CSA
In 2025, our farm manager, Dylanna, and her bee yard continue to grow and change as she steps into her newest partnership with us at Gumboots Family Farm. The farm is host to the bee yard and together we have joined forces to bring you the Bee Yard Bee Well CSA. Each share — starting mid-June through early October (10 total) — will have a some of our finest produce, honey, eggs, poultry (add-on), pork (add-on), and other farm-sourced goods. Join us in supporting local, sustainable farming and enjoy the best our family-run farm has to offer. Sign up today and be a part of our growing community!
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
Add-ons, like eggs (as the chickens permit), cheese (in most), honey (late season), bread, and mushrooms as we can- are included in your cost! This year we will add chicken and pork as options for CSA members. These will be an additional cost to our subscription. Keep an eye out for details.
HOW MUCH WILL I GET?
There will be enough fresh produce in each delivery or pick-up for 2-3 people. We average a paper grocery bag’s (about 5-7 lbs) worth of produce each delivery . That said, the first deliveries may come with lots of light weight leafy greens & other goods, while in later ones you can expect heavier items, like winter squash, tomatoes, and root crops. We give out about 6– 8 different items in a share plus other farm goodies. Chicken and Pork options will be offered to CSA members first.
CSA IDEAS
Throughough the season you will receive items to make potato salad with honey mustard vinaigrette, roasted corn salad with hot pepper honey and jalapeños, or a fresh green salad with all the fixings. We love our tomato honey dressing recipe and hope you will, too. Watch our Facebook page (along with Honey & Paws) for recipes.
Remember, CSA deliveries may include herbs, fresh flowers (some edible), and items that might not be part of the salad like cheese and mushrooms. Recipes are for inspiration.
All mushrooms must be cooked before eating.
EXTRAS
We love sharing out what our creative farm and small business friends are creating with each delivery. Your CSA order will include items like pottery, tinctures, and other locally sourced farm and SB goods from folks we know. We hope you love them as much a we do.
PICK UP LOCATION
If you choose to pick up your CSA, you can do it from the farm directly each Saturday until 3. We are located in Guys Mills, PA. If you choose delivery, we will get your order out to you on Saturdays by 1. Delivery is an additional cost.
WHAT ELSE?
The CSA is alternating weeks beginning mid-June and lasting through October. Dates will be emailed after the May15th order deadline closes.
Picks ups will be alternating Saturdays afternoons. Delivery within Erie and Crawford County is available for an extra $35 for the season. Of course, Mother Nature plays a part in all of this.
The CSA is non-refundable.
PAYMENT
We are happy to offer you an installment plan if it makes the CSA more accessible for you and your family. All payments are due no later than May 31, 2025. Credit cards are easy but cash is preferred.
CSA POLICY
By signing up and submitting payment for a CSA share I am agreeing to the following terms:
I am buying a biweekly portion of the farm’s harvest in advance, and entering into a relationship with Gumboots Family Farm for the duration of the CSA season.
I understand that my investment before the beginning of the season directly supports the farm by providing much-needed capital for the anticipated costs of seeds, supplies, etc. at a time when the farm needs it most.I agree to pay for my share in full by the designated deadline.
I understand that in signing up for a share of the harvest I am agreeing to share both the potential bounty and the potential risk, which are an inherent part of farming, with the farmers and other CSA members.
If the farm experiences poor growing conditions or unfortunate loss of livestock which limits crop yields and egg production, I understand that I will not be refunded for my share.
Poultry or pork deposits will be refunded if the farm should experience a loss of livestock prior to delivery date.
Pick-up: I understand it is my responsibility to pick up my share during one of the CSA distribution times every other week. If I am unable to pick up my share, I will ask a friend or neighbor to collect my share for me. If my share is not picked up, I forfeit the share for that week.
I agree to follow the farm guidelines in the CSA Member Handbook while on the property to keep myself, other members, the farmers, and other animals safe. This includes details around you-pick crops, parking, dogs, inclement weather, and other safety precautions. These guidelines are available on the website, on the farm stand, and will be sent via email, and it is my responsibility to read and understand them.
By submitting payment, I (the CSA Member) hereby release, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the Farm, its agents and employees from any and all claims and/or liability from being on the Gumboots Family Farm property, from the purchase of a CSA membership or the use or consumption of food provided by the Farm.
In return we, the farmers, promise to do our best to provide a full share every other week of the designated growing season, using thoughtful and comprehensive land stewardship and organic growing practices.
The quantity of produce, and specific limits to certain crops, will inevitably vary from week to week and season to season. In times of bounty, we will also share that reward with our members by providing out of the bag items, or opportunities for bulk crops.
Thank you so much for your support towards a successful growing season and a successful farm!
